When I was a kid I remember my mom making Red Cream Soda Floats, it was a rare treat and so good! I know she use to buy Big Red Cream Soda, but when I came across this Dad’s Red Cream Soda it totally reminded me of that childhood treat.
Ingredients:
– Red Cream Soda
– Vanilla Ice Cream
– Fancy Straw
I scoop about 5 scoops of ice cream in to my glass (leaving about an inch and a half of room at the top of the glass).
Pour in your red cream soda, let it rest for a couple seconds so you can pour some more soda in.
Then top with one more giant scoop of ice cream on top!
Add a cute striped straw and your good to go! Sip away & enjoy!

Were from Texas and grew up on Big Red Floats. There is nothing better!!! Now I feel like I really need one. I actually have letters from the Big Red company. I wrote to them when I was little asking them to sell it here. They wrote back and said they didn’t have any local distributors.. I wrote again and 5mths later my brother calls us from the store (Pay Phone LOL!! ) and said they had Big Red!!! DARN to bad I didn’t have a blog back then.. 🙂

Rebecca, this is totally taking me back! We did’t have red cream soda where I lived growing up so my dad would bring us each a case of Barq’s Red Creme Soda from his business trips out east. We would hoard those like nobody’s business. I loved savoring a precious can in a float. Nothing beats that!
