Ok so I gave in and decided to do at least one St. Patrick’s Day project. I don’t really decorate for the holiday since it’s so close to Easter, but this was a quick project and really easy to do. Today I’m telling you how you can make this Washi Tape Shamrock Silhouette Art in under 30 minutes.
Supplies:
– Old Canvas or Block of Wood
– Burlap
– Foam Core Board {optional}
– Cardstock
– Washi Tape
– Duct Tape or Glue Gun
– Scissors or Your Cutting Machine of Choice
First I created my shamrock. I downloaded a template from Silhouette that I could use my with Silhouette Portrait machine. I made it the size I wanted and cut it on to plain white cardstock. I then used a few of the green washi tapes that I had on hand in different colors and patterns and covered my shamrock. I then trimmed the excess washi tape from the edges of the shamrock. I had an empty white canvas that is 12 x 18″ that was the perfect size for this project. All I did was cover it with burlap, I just duct taped mine on so I could re-use the canvas at another time. I wrapped it like a present, you’d never know. Next I traced my shamrock on to a piece of foam core board and cut it out using an xacto knife. I then glued it to my washi tape shamrock using a glue stick. Then using my duct tape again I just adhered it my burlap canvas. And I was done. Such a cute and simple project, best thing is I can switch it out to Easter {stay tuned for that one!} once St. Patrick’s Day is over.

That is such a good idea! I’ve been trying not to cave and do any St Patty’s crafts either. It’s not really a big holiday in my house so I don’t want to make something just for the sake of making something!! Very cute project though.

This is perfect — simple and cute and easy! I am building my supply of washi tape and I love finding ways like this to use it! Love your use of duct tape and I love that I am not the only one who makes it so I can use canvases again! 🙂 Thanks for sharing — this is on my list to do this weekend!
