Did you know that September is Better Breakfast Month? Mornings around our house during the school year are nothing short of hectic. There is one part of our routine that tends to be more difficult and that is breakfast. When you have a picker eater who won’t eat protein or anything outside of the cereal world typically it makes breakfast choices tough. I want to send my kids off to school with a nutritious breakfast that keeps them full all morning while they learn. One thing he will eat is peanut butter, so these Chocolate Peanut Butter Smoothies are one way I know he will stay full longer.
90 percent of American pantries contain one or more jars of peanut butter, making it an easy go-to ingredient to help make breakfast quick and convenient. Peanut butter is also a very budget-friendly ingredient for a morning meal. On average, peanut butter costs 16 cents per ounce, which is enough peanut butter to make one sandwich. You might not typically think of making peanut butter a part of your morning routine, but you totally should! Whether you are spreading it on a bagel, waffles, or adding it to your smoothie it’s a great source of protien and high in fiber which means you stay full longer.
This Chocolate Peanut Butter Smoothie was a huge hit, and even put a smile on both of my boys faces. It was like having a treat for breakfast, except it was one I could feel good about giving them.

You know what I wish? I wish you lived near me and could send me off with a good breakfast every morning. Since you don’t, I guess I will have to try this one out on my own, because I love peanut butter.
