Hi friends. It feels like it’s been so long since I’ve shared something with you. Things have been crazy, but I’m excited to get back to work. Valentine’s Day is quickly approaching so I’m trying to get caught up with my decor. This Valentine’s Day Hugs & Kisses Washi Tape Garland is the perfect addition to my holiday decor.
Supplies:
DecoArt Americana Decoupage (satin finish)
Small Wood Letters & Wood Hearts
Foam Brushes
DecoArt Americana Acrylic Paint (white)
Bakers Twine
Washi Tape
Glue Gun
Small Scissors or Xacto Knife
I found small packages of 2″ wood letters & these wood hearts at Hobby Lobby. The washi tape is from Scotch brand and can be found at Target in the scrapbooking section.
Begin by applying a light coat of decoupage to the entire front of your wood letter, be sure to work quickly as it dries fast.
Apply washi tape until the entire letter front is covered.
Using your Xacto knife or a very small sharp pair of scissors trim away any excess washi tape from the letter.
Apply a final coat of decoupage to entire surface and place aside to dry.
Paint all your wood hearts white (or whatever color you like), once dry I roughed up my edges a bit with sandpaper.
Using your hot glue gun glue the bakers twine to all the backs of the letters & hearts.
It turned out super cute, and I love how it looks paired with my map garland and other map decor. I love my entry way. I call it my “love around the world” entry. Cute huh?! Decoupage is one of my favorite products to use, it has so many great uses. Love it!

Love everything about this! I found you from Tatertots and Jello and your garlands are so cute. But I also love everything else – especially that arrow! I’ll definitely be exploring the rest of your site.
