Holiday Sled Makeover { A Thrifty Find }
Today I’m sharing my Holiday Sled Makeover with you. A few weeks ago I was super lucky while shopping at one of my favorite stores {Goodwill}, I came across this decent sized decorative sled. The lucky part…it wasn’t marked at a ridiculous price! Score! It was only $3.99, yeah you heard me! $3.99! Shut the front door! So I snatched this cute thing right up and took it home with me.
I knew it needed a little something to go along with my Christmas decor, the brownish red color of the wood wasn’t doing it for me. So I decided on a quick and easy fix, spray paint. I just took the wood off and primed it a bit, then sprayed it with white paint. At first I was expecting it to coat nicely, which it did not! The wood was stained and I being lazy didn’t feel it needed to be sanded before priming. Which ironically actually made it better in the end. I wanted it to be a shabby white, so I only had to lightly sand it to get that look since the spray paint didn’t coat evenly. Score for me. I love it, it’s a great additional to our Holiday decor. The boys have even requested to go sledding, which I so quickly politely said no to. So have you find any great finds this Holiday season that you’ve made over?
