I’m so excited to finally be sharing my Chalkboard Inspired Christmas Tree with you. This year I went with a chalkboard theme on my Christmas Mantle, and carried it through all of our decor. I am so please with how it all turned out.
I love how the accent color I chose (Americana Sea Breeze) looks with my gray walls. I didn’t buy a lot of new decor. I mostly used what I already had on hand, except for a few things.
I snagged this vintage metal crate from my mom’s house a few months ago, and it was the perfect solution to not having a tree skirt this year. I love how it worked out, I just added some draped burlap inside the crate to cover my tree stand. Surprisingly not having a tree skirt under the tree this year has kept our troublesome cat out of it! Who knew.
I did purchase several crafty items to make ornaments this year. These paper mache ornaments with our initials were one, I got the idea from Landeelu and her Newsprint Ornaments. I used book pages for mine.
The button ornaments were unfinished wood button discs from Michaels, about 20 cents each. I painted half white and the other half in the Americana Sea Breeze. Added some bakers twine, and done!
The white giant snowflakes are dollar store decorations, and so are my very favorite plastic icicle ornaments that I’ve had for about 7 years. They go on every tree I decorate, best $$$ I spent at the dollar store!
These large paper mache ornaments were found at Hobby Lobby. I wanted them to be chalkboard as well, so I painted them with Americana chalkboard paint and used a chalkboard marker to accent them. I love that they are kind of different.
I used these really cute wood chalkboard labels I have from World Market and just drew some of my favorite Christmas sayings and drew simple polka dots on them.
You can see the Fancy Framed Chalkboard Ornaments I made, each one has “Merry Christmas” in a different language. There is an ornament English, Spanish, French, Hawaiian, German, and Italian.
These perfect globe ornaments were the only new (premade) ornaments I purchased. They are from World Market, I bought a bunch in both the teal & black colors. They replicated both the chalkboard theme I was going for and the accent color on my tree. After Christmas these cuties are going in a giant vase or bowl.
The chevron burlap ribbon is from Hobby Lobby, my fave! Outside of two of the three sections of my tree deciding to not work anymore, I love love love this tree. It sits in my office and makes me so happy to look at while I’m working. I hope you love it too.
